THE GREAT ESCAPE ROOM

A couple of weekends ago, I went to my classmate’s birthday party at this place in downtown Chicago called The Great Escape Room.

We went into the escape room that 48% of people got out of. We wanted to get out of the room faster than the other team, who went into an escape room that 50% of people get out of. In our room, we had to find objects that had stickers on them and put them in the bin that was the same color as the sticker. The objects were clues to find the number combination to open the chests for each of different colors. Inside the chests were screwdrivers that we had to use to open a vent. We wouldn’t have gotten this far if a worker hadn’t been in the room and providing us clues. In the vent there was another clue and a blacklight, which we shone on the wall to get the number combination to let us out of the room. We ended up with 15 minutes to spare, more than the other team, who came out with 7 minutes. After, we all had pizza and ice cream sandwiches. Best first escape room ever!

LANYARDS

Yesterday at camp I learned how to make lanyards. If you don’t know what that is, it’s kind of a kind of weaving without any tools except for the plastic cord that you use instead of yarn or regular string. At first it was hard to make the stitches, but then I got the hang of it.
